·         The House of Lords shall be turned into a wholly appointed body (with Bishops and other such relics removed), with individuals selected by a newly formed utterly independent commission. Allowing the House to retain its status as a chamber of experts rather than having it degrade into the den of politicians and back dealing which mars normal democratic democracy.

The Failure of the Individual

Is any myth perpetrated with as much vigor and radicalism as the doctrine of individualism? Throughout the modern era an idea, an idea of individual worth has been perpetrated throughout the world and has spread like a plague among all people. Indeed we live now in a time where decadence and social decline take the agenda over progress and success. How is it that a nation can serve so heavily to blind itself too the truth of the world?

There is no point in the natural cycle of life in which a human being is a creature based on its “individuality”. Our very existence as a human being comes out of cooperation, indeed every aspect of nation and culture depends upon cooperation and social cohesion to function. Without these concepts all we have is anarchy, death and destruction. Why is then that we insist so readily on casting aside this great truth and attempting to pursue a course of blind arrogance above all else?

Human beings need conflict, they need division but equally they must be unified and cooperative in said conflict. The nation state is a physical manifestation of an ethnic, political and cultural identity; this unity has proven itself time and time again to be the maximum stage at which true cooperation can be effectively attained. At this level so much can be accomplished; space flight, the steam engine, industrialization, the list goes on and in every instance we see cases of not just individuals but a whole society coming together with one goal, to make itself stronger. While pure unity is utterly unworkable at the international stage, alongside conflict and indeed war it attains an ability to motivate and drive people to greatness, greatness we have since cast aside and lost.

This idea though seems to be ever the more forgotten, a relic of a long lost age. An age of progress, cohesion and success now cast aside as on a nation level as the British people discard the ideals which uplifted them to the great pedestal they now hold as outdated, even when the global evidences points to the alternative. Instead we accept decline, we accept destruction and we cast ourselves to the waste bin of history like some kind of lame stallion waiting to be put down and out of its misery. Indeed the idea of sacrifice, to give up one's individual comforts for the greater good, is now lost upon all. History shows again and again it is the people willing to make sacrifice, willing to saddle the burden of conflict who emerge victorious are those whose nations works as an efficient cooperative unit.

It cannot be the case, the mighty lion which was the British Empire cannot be permanently tamed and I refuse to believe it. Even the oldest beast has one last roar within it, one last chance to attain greatness and I say now is the time to perform it. The time is ripe to stand united and make the push to regain the greatness which has been stolen, by foreign subversion and trickery, from us. The time is now to retake all that has been lost and like we have done dozens of time in the past, move against the odds to the victory we are entitled. There is nothing more certain, more guaranteed and indeed more necessary for British victory and control on the global stage and no cost is to high, no hurdle to large and no chasm to wide if crossing it will grant us back a position which is rightfully ours.

Winston Churchill, perhaps the epitome of the British spirit, once said the following; “Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty.” Why is it then that we have resigned ourselves to giving up? If there are two things that the United Kingdom has held throughout its history are an unstoppable spirit and an everlasting commitment to unity. We cannot discard these ideas; not now, not ever and a ongoing want by so many to discard 1,000 years of progress in the face of a dozen of hardship is treasonous at best. If there is one message I can leave upon the people of this nation it is one again to “never give up” for even if all we have now is one tiny spark of hope, it is all one needs to move mountains and perform the impossible. United we stand, divided we fall and now is a time above all others where we must stand united and strong in the face of defeat and nothingness...

The Death of the Ideal

It seems that if modern culture has succeeded in the utter destruction of anything, it is idealism. Ideals which used to fill us, used to define us and which used to drive us to move mountains and accomplish the impossible have been discarded. Replaced with the empty crevices of consumerism and individualist culture, which serve only to set one’s society down the path of degradation and self destruction. Indeed in the past it was not the moral emptiness of things which drove us to conquer mountains but instead a drive and a will to make the nation we know and love great.

What has caused this divide? It seems most prominently to be linked into a change in the very fundamental psyche of business. Formerly business was a force to further the interests of the state; looking at great former Industrialists and businessmen such as Cecil Rhodes or the Krupp Family we see a constant image of patriots ready to put themselves in the firing line for the national good. In the case of Rhodes we get a quite literal example of that via his own personal intervention in the Boer War. Yet now we live in a society where the state is subservient to business, not vice versa and the result is a system which instead of providing the necessary criteria for improvement and progress only sparks degradation.

One can most easily describe the relationship that should exist between business and the state is simple metaphor. It is the relationship between a parent and a child; parents must guild a child through life and protect them when necessary from the harm their poor judgement could cause. Yet at the same time they cannot be utterly dominated in this regard, for any success a child makes under complete domination is hollow and meaningless and the lack of real struggle necessary for them to attain any really greatness creates a husk of a person. In response though for this guidance (despite any harm they may feel originating from it) a child must be necessary to aid their parents in times of need and pay back the gift, perhaps the greatest gift of life, they have been given.

Instead of this though we see a system where exploitation of one’s own countrymen remains on the table, where the national good is substituted for the good of the individual and a system is enforced which holds no real longevity in reality. This is not to say such ideals as Marxism hold credit, equality is by no means a real aim, but at the same time it is our duty to ensure that the state as a whole benefits from the economic system we hold onto. What we need is the so called “third way” the point where the best of state and private intervention can combine and hand in hand work to build true greatness.

In the past we have simply seen this ideal as a method to disguise one’s own ultra-capitalist or socialist economic viewpoint, simply performing a Bismarck style twist to hide ones true agenda. That cannot be the aim nor can it even enter the agenda, the ideal of the state and doing all in ones power to further that ideal must be our driving point. For under an idea we can achieve greatness, a man will much sooner die for an ideal then we will die for pure economic property. This is why war is always waged under pretences of spreading freedom or liberty as we can individually regard ourselves as morally righteous instruments towards bringing about that end.

Society must feel united, it must feel strong and it must feel purpose for it to act in the cohesive and indeed perfect manner it must seek to attain. This though can only be attained with an idea and the alternative we currently face is a level of division and divide among our state that threatens to destroy and disembowel us all.  The modern political class is either too idiotic to accept this or simply does not care, to busy filling their own pockets with the spoils of their decadence, it is up to the British people to take hold of the necessary vision and force about the change we so need if we are to have a future at all...

The Irony of Western Self Delusion

While the “Kony 2012” fad has come and gone, perhaps to see a revival closer to the date of the previously planned protest movements, yet the whole phenomenon has provided a huge insight into the prevailing ideals of modern society and additionally the extent to which self delusion has spread across the world. More and more this idea of futility, of inevitability and seeming impending doom is spread and taken aboard by the people of not only the United Kingdom but the entire Western World. Indeed we now find ourselves in a world where the fringes of society do not push for radicalism and progress, but instead a type of personal suicide in which our nation would shut itself of from the globe and seemingly wait out the rest of her days as an obscure little island where people can come to die.

No this ideal does not find any backing in either fact nor history and indeed its perpetration and spread is the result of years of failure and inadequacy by our leading classes.  Perhaps a key notion of idiocy we have seen perpetrated is that, in unison with the “Kony” Movement, the United Kingdom (and indeed the whole Western World) is for some reason incapable of intervening quickly and effectively into an enviroment such as Uganda. It is time for people to accept that Britain is a nation with the capacity to exert untold military force upon any nation in the world, with little preparation.

Idiotic and seemingly uninformed spending cuts have scaled back our capabilities. Yet despite the madness they have perpetrated; we still hold an Air Force with a level of capability so large it could conquer the entire continent of Africa, a Navy of capabilities perhaps only two nations on Earth can match it and an Army of such efficiency and ability it is renowned for victories across the Earth. Sure these branches suffer from huge underfunding, indeed it would make sense for defence spending to be doubled and fixed at a minimum of 5% of GDP. The aim should always be for the British Military to be built around at least 6 Supercarriers and the largest Air Force on the Continent should we wish for British security be ensured. Still two hundred years of global hegemony have given us a “head start” which only now are Eastern Nations, such as Russia and China, beginning to catch mainly a result of embracing Western ideals.

There is no question of our ability at current to seize any nation on the African Continent should the will of the British people push said agenda. One needs only look at our intervention in Sierra Leone to see that spoken clearly, indeed the pish posh of incoherent militias which dot the surface of Africa do not deserve the title “Armies,” there are armed gangs with greater capabilities then these “nations”.  Thus the question is formulated why don’t we use this capacity to push the interests of ourselves where we should to the advantage of the entire African populace?

The existence of madmen such as Kony in the jungles of Uganda is simply a manifestation of the failures of de-colonization. Africa’s inability at self rule has been proven, their achievements have consisted primarily of mass poverty, starvation, civil war and unprecedented corruption, with a few President run oil wells filling the void. Yet out of some weird twisted moral stand we do not act, there are many people in society incapable of looking after themselves (such as someone with Alzheimer’s) and society has no quarrel with forcibly moving them into an establishment where they can be adequately cared for. Should this principle be applied to a nation though, whose failures cost millions of lives, society is strangely quiet.

It is clear what the solution is, re-intervention... When regions such as Rwanda and Darfur where subject to some of the worst cases of ethnic cleansing since the Holocaust we must act. We cannot stand by ambivalently blaming ourselves in the past while refusing to acknowledge the now. It is our duty to act and bring these regions under the control of our military and Governments until such a time as they show the capabilities for self governance exhibited by nations such as the United Kingdom.

Kony has been turned into a figure to advocate the status quo, in fact it is no surprise the ideals of the campaign involving him gained such traction in the Western World. The idea that any problem can be fixed by “throwing money at it” has become engrained into the subconscious of so many of us the fact that direct physical action is required seems only foreign. If anything this can be seen as the key weakening aspect of capitalism, it has attempted to spread a message that money is worth more than firepower. Gaddafi found out that was not the case with his life, let us hope the same does not become of us.

Should we wish to remove stories from the news of untold suffering across the world, should we wish to retain our position in the world and should we wish to once again make the United Kingdom great it can only be through aggressive action. We have no choice; regions such as Uganda must be once again placed into more capable hands for both our sakes and theirs. Failure is not an option, for should we, we are all dead...
